The Power of Morning Meditation

by Swami Bodhananda Wellness

In the ancient tradition of Ojas, the morning (Brahma Muhurta) is considered the most potent time for mental clarity. For a student, starting the day with meditation isn’t just a spiritual practice—it’s a cognitive performance enhancer.

Why Meditate?

Meditation strengthens the prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain responsible for focus, decision-making, and emotional regulation.

How to Start

  1. Sit in a quiet corner.
  2. Close your eyes and observe your breath.
  3. When your mind wanders (and it will), gently bring it back to your breath.
  4. Do this for just 10 minutes every morning before you touch your phone.

The Impact on Learning

Students who meditate regularly report better “flow states” while studying, where time seems to fly and deep understanding comes more naturally.
